H&M Fall-Winter...

Yes, I know, it's a bit early to start thinking about new clothes for the next season...but I haven't bought so many clothes with sales (I had/have to study) ... :(

Watching on H&M italian website I just find out what I want to start the next academic year with a new vibe...

What I saw this year is that in the main franchising shops (like H&M and Zara) skirts are shorter than ever! I mean, I'm not that kind of skinny girl the fashion world wants, but I'm not even a fat one...I'm in the middle, but I just feel unconfortable with all my thighs in "open air"...What kind of woman do they want?? And the super skinny jeans? Oh Gosh, I can't even put one of my legs inside of them...it's so stressing and hurts so much... My boyfriend says I don't have to be worry about this stupid things, but when you are across the street in Italy (expecially in northern Italy) you can feel everyone's eyes on your body...and you have to be kind of perfect in your way...and I'm not...
So the only skirt I found out wearable for me is this one:

It's so ethereal...

This year my mom promised me to buy a new fall jacket (the last one I bought was in 2007...) so I need a good one to wear for the next 3-4 years.

I really like the second one, the first one may be too short.
And more, this year it's blazer time: what do you think of these ones??

I love them all!! ;)
Well, I'll go back to my books...see you!!

Vintage Shirt - Inspiration

Hi everyone, hope everything is fine!
Today I had a devastating day: my very first exam in spanish...Gosh, 80 question in just 1 hour!!Even my spanish classmates complaint to the professor...but we all new otorinolaringologists are quite deaf...

Well, reaching the point, I am searching some inspiration for my next next project...a vintage shirt, made with a very vintage fabric!! I bought it on this shop, from this amazing girl, Suzannah, who writes on this blog: she creates wanderful things!!She is so skilled and talented!!

It's so cute, isn't it??

By the way, what do you think of these shirts??
This is the Alexander blouse from Burda Style.

And here is the JJ blouse, always by Burda Style.

And this a JJ shirt made from a Burda Style member: the Rockabilly JJ. I love it!!

Mmh, difficult choice!!
I think I will make one the moment I will start the project...I'm quite sure the inspiration will come alone... :)

See you soon, I'll post pictures of my ended work!!....finally.....

Banana Republic - Inspiration

I love dress, what can I do? I simply love them...and now I love to sew them by myself... :)

I was "surfing" on the internet and I found out these beautiful, gorgeous dresses from Banana Republic. They are really expensive, though they are not tailored by hand and I don't know if the dress worth the price...so I thought: I can try to do them by myself!!

Here are the dresses I felt in love with...

Cute, eh?
I think that, using my vintage pattern Butterick 3001 I can sew the 3rd one.
For the 2nd I think I will just need to sew the Marie skirt and then I will need to add a bodice part (to me seems quite simple) with ruffle sleeves.
The 1st one is like a "tent dress" a little more fitted with that gorgeous pleated collar! I just love it!!

But, what I really need is a good wollen fabric. Without it I can't sew anything.

Let's see if I can find something...I'll let you know...
Bye, for now.

PS: I have quite finished the linen dress, I only need to add the elastic and sew the hems...I think tomorrow I will post some pictures... I'm so excited!! :)

Some Inspiration: Nina A/W 2010/2011

I know, it's a sign...this name return back to me...no way, it has to be a reason...
I have called my contest design Nina Swing Dress in honour of my cousin and best friend Nina, who died 3 years and a half ago...and now I found out this amazing stylist who has called her Autumn-Winter collection of this year Nina...here is her reason:

'Nińa' A/W 2010 - 2011
'Nińa' is inspired by the destiny of Eunice Kathleen Waymon, known as Nina Simone. All she wanted was to play the piano. Instead she started to sing and became passionate about the civil rights movement. She was as much talented as she was stubborn. 'Nińa' is about both the strengths and fragility of one woman, who falls under 'supergirl' category.
Here is her website ---> Ludmila Corlateanu
I have chosen few pictures to share with you...
